arma aflata in dotarea cavaleriei, folosita in bataliile statice deoarece era greu de folosit dar in aceste cazuri era foarte eficienta. Ea era alcatuita din varf si coada. Varful era lucrat dintr-o singura bucata de fier si sunt de doua feluri: cu corpul in forma de frunza de salcie strabatut de o nervura mediana dubla sau cu lama ingusta si plata, fara nervura.
