More and more clients are asking if there is any way of ensuring that their money is invested in companies that have no links to the tobacco or arms industry, show responsible employment and are committed to sustainable growth. There are currently 45 ethical investment funds in the UK managing over $2bn. In response to this trend, the London Stock Exchange (FTSE) will launch a green index at the end of the month called FTSE4Good. The new index has been developed with Unicef and the Ethical Investment Research Service and firms must meet all three main entry criteria: environmental stability, relationship with stakeholders and support for human rights.
