Buna dimineata, poate cineva sa "shed some light" asupra sintagmei de mai sus? Apare (mult prea frecvent, din nefericire pentru mine:) ) in actele unei firme.

Nu este societate în comandită (limited partnership). Explicaţia se găseşte mai jos.
"A limited liability partnership (LLP) is a form of business organization combining elements of partnerships and corporations. In an LLP, all partners have a form of limited liability, similar to that of the shareholders of a corporation. However, the partners have the right to manage the business directly, and (in many areas) a different level of tax liability than in a corporation.
Limited liability partnerships are distinct from limited partnerships, in that limited liability is granted to all partners, not to a subset of non-managing "limited partners." As a result the LLP is more suited for businesses where all investors wish to take an active role in management. However, some US states have combined the two forms to create limited liability limited partnerships.
Although found in many business fields, the LLP is an especially popular form of organization among professionals, particularly lawyers, accountants and architects. De ce LLC şi LLP nu sunt tocmai acelaşi lucru:
"A limited liability company (LLC) differs from a limited liability partnership (LLP) in that the LLP is a partnership. LLP is a status elected by a partnership, a status that alters the rule of liability among the partners. Multumesc, Maria, m-am uitat si eu prin intrebarile anterioare...Am incercat sa vad pe alte perechi de limbi, respectiv pe en>sp (vezi http://www.proz.com/kudoz/511528 ), insa nu stiu, ori romana noastra e prea plastica si nu imi suna bine, ori inca nu am baut destula cafea ca sa imi sune bine, parca it doesn't click :) Poate cineva sa ma lumineze apropo de varianta pe care o propunea KirstyMac pt. spaniola, respectiv "sociedad en comandita simple"? Ar putea fi asta? Imi recunosc ignoranta cu privire la forma asta de organizare a unei societati...
