Electric strikes are often used for "buzz in" type of systems. Electric strikes come in many varieties. They can be 12 or 24 or even higher voltage and they may take AC or DC current and some even take both. They may be fail safe or fail secure. A fail safe electric strike needs power to keep it locked. A fail secure electric strike stays locked even without power. The most common by far is a fail secure. When using a fail secure electric strike even without power it stays locked from the outside coming in.

Sînt două sisteme electromagnetice *electric strike*, de îchidere a uşilor. Unul, fail-safe, normal deschis, care se închide apăsînd pe un buton, care în cazul pauzei de curent permite uşii sa se poată deschide. Al doilea, fail-secure, normal deschis, care se închide apasînd pe buton, dar care, în cazul unei pauze de curent nu permite deschiderea uşii. Ambele pot fi echipate cu sonerii tip buzer.

Un gînd nu-mi dădea pace. După o scurtă documentare, am aflat că nu sînt numai dispozitive electrice de avertizare ci şi de închidere. Rezulta acest lucru şi din contextul furnizat. Iertare!

An electric strike is an access control device used for doors.It replaces the fixed strike often used with a latchbar.Like a fixed strike, it normally presents a ramped surface to the latchbar allowing the door to close and latch just like a fixed strike.
Electric strikes are sometimes equipped with buzzers which allow someone outside the door to hear when the door is open. The buzzing noise is typically simply a result of applying AC current to the strike instead of DC.
