1.4. Sistemul rutelor de navigatie
Pentru ca traficul navelor în zone aglomerate si congestionate sa se desfasoare mai usor, I.M.O. în anul 1960, la Conferinta pentru Ocrotirea Vietii Umane pe Mare, a propus crearea unui sistem de rute de navigatie obligatorii, iar în 1973 a fost adoptata în acest sens o rezolutie. Sistemul vizeaza cresterea sigurantei navigatiei costiere obligatorii de trecere si cu un trafic intens.
