I like either of the above two terms, especially because of the fog, mist, visual effect. It's like seeing through a curtain, a "water curtain".

Doamna Simona, din câte ştiu, termenii meteorologici rămân netraduşi în documentele folosite în aviaţie. Se traduce numai explicaţia termenului, nu şi termenul în sine. Traducerea, reuşită sau nu, poate să nu ofere niciun ajutor suplimentar.

Am înţeles. Cred că pentru această traducere, mai bine zis adaptare, nu scăpăm de prea multe cuvinte. Mă gândesc că trebuie să reiasă originea fenomenului, pentru a face diferenţa comparativ cu alte tipuri de fenomene meteo asemănătoare (de exemplu, faţă de umiditatea formată prin evaporare). Poate e mai bine aşa: umiditate atmosferică generată şi antrenată eolian (de la suprafaţa maselor mari de apă).
Sincer, nu sunt deloc mulţumit de niciuna din cele două variante de traducere propuse de mine.:)

Asker: Multumesc, Cosmin. Dar textul meu nu are de-a face cu aviaţia. Este un applet pentru prognoze meteo. Am dat la context definiţia gasita pe web, deoarece eu nu prea am context.
Asker: Propunerea e buna, dar registrul este diferit. Nu imi trebuie ceva atat de pretentios.
