The Bredius Museum is very restrictive in lending paintings for exhibitions. If a museum wishes to lend a painting an official request should be sent to the board of the Bredius Museum. The loan will only be granted if the organizing museum is willing to pay a lending fee of € 2500 per painting. There are two exceptions:
(1) For the loan of Rembrandt's "Bust of Christ" special arrangements will have to be made.
(2) a loan of Elinga's perspective box will not normally be allowed, as it is too fragile to travel.
Furthermore an all-risk insurance is requested (nail-to-nail) and all expenses for transport and insurance are to be paid by the borrower. Also two copies of the catalogue are requested if the painting is to be reproduced.
