Fiind un "idiom" tehnic, vad ca s-a mers pe explicatie, insotita de termenul original, si in italiana sau spaniola.

aveti dreptate. poate raspunsul trebuie cautat si la profesorii universitari care predau materia de specialitate si care poate au ajuns la un consens referitor la echivalarea termenilor.

pot fi gasite explicatii ref. la acesti termeni si - daca intelegem sensul lor - ar trebui sa incercam sa gasim un echivalent acceptabil in limba romana.
Recunosc ca nu ma pricep - am aflat despre acest subiect citind intrebarea KudoZ. In plus, inainte de observatia dvs, credeam ca este vorba doar de un concept larg "William McDonough/Michael Braungart" (de aceea am dat raspunsul cu "sustenabilitatea"). Acum, ref. la etape din ciclul de viata al produsului, as incerca in fiecare caz o traducere concisa, urmata de sintagma originala, in paranteza. De ex, "de la sonda-până in rezervorul auto" ("well-to-wheel). Nu am nicio parere pentru "wheel to wheel" (mi se pare gresit).
In acest sens, as corecta raspunsul meu dat deja (care este gresit in cazul LCA.) Ideea care o am acum este : [abordare "de la productie-la reciclare" ("cradle-to-cradle")]. Este posibil ca si acest raspuns sa fie nesatisfacator, dar continui sa cred ca prin incercari succesive s-ar putea gasi o solutie corecta - din punctul meu de vedere unica- si in limba romana. Nu?

pentru acuratete, cum ati traduce conceptele relationate de "cradle to grave", "cradle to gate", "gate to gate", "wheel to wheel" etc? mie mi se pare ca parafrazarea, interpretarea, sublimarea conceptului din metafora nu reusesc intotdeauna sa surprinda esenta unor formulari atat de plastice.

ci de un principiu general si de spiritul care ar trebui sa anime acest site (pasiune pentru traduceri, cautarea solutiei corecte, fair play). Priceperea mea are limite si sunt de acord ca pot sa gresesc, dar nu sunt de acord sa "traduc" cu buna stiinta "diafan" prin "transparent" pentru ca oricum se va intelege destul de bine despre ce este vorba ... Pe scurt si fara a ma referi in mod special la aceasta intrebare, o respingere a principiului "merge si asa".

De acord ca reciclare regenerativa suna cumva pleonastic dar co-generare (termen care ar exprima mult mai bine conceptul) a fost ... luat de catre procesele cu abur si se refera la altceva :-(
Oricum, observatia cum ca sustenabilitate este o umbrela mult mai larga decat cradle-to-cradle, ramane; fara suparare.

Cradle to Cradle Design (sometimes abbreviated to C2C or in some circles referred to as regenerative) is a biomimetic approach to the design of systems. It models human industry on nature's processes in which materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms.

Put simply, it is a holistic economic, industrial and social framework that seeks to create systems that are not just efficient but essentially waste free.[1]
The term 'C2C Certification' is a protected term of the McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) consultants. It is a proprietary system of certification.

In the Cradle to Cradle model, all materials used in industrial or commercial processes--such as metals, fibers, dyes--are seen to fall into one of two categories: "technical" or "biological" nutrients. Technical nutrients are strictly limited to non-toxic, non-harmful synthetic materials that have no negative effects on the natural environment; they can be used in continuous cycles as the same product without losing their integrity or quality. In this manner these materials can be used over and over again instead of being "downcycled" into lesser products, ultimately becoming waste.

The two types of materials each follow their own cycle in the regenerative economy envisioned by McDonough and Braungart.
