Explanation:
spre deosebire de tratamentul traditional in care se excaveză si se plombează caria direct, într-o singură sedintă, tratamentul in trepte, evita expunerea pulpei dentare excavând mai întâi regiunea cariogenica periferica a cariei, se aplica un izolant (sealant)şi o plombă temporară si se asteapta o perioada (câteva luni) pt. regenerarea dentinei; in cateva luni, se continuă tratamentul cu excavarea portiunii cariogene centrale si aplicarea plombei finale.
