Într-un manual cu instrucţiuni pentru paturi medicale se face referire la saltelele care se aşează pe cadrul patului. La început se explică faptul că spaţiul care există între o saltea subdimensionată şi cadrul patului poate determina rănirea pacientului. Apoi se prezintă riscurile saltelelor care au dimensiuni potrivite, dar care sunt "highly conforming" sau care au un grad mare de "compliance along the siderails".

Iată şi textul:

"Even when the surface is appropriately sized for the frame, therapy surfaces such as air mattresses are highly conforming and may pose a risk of suffocation. If a vulnerable patient is put on a therapy surface, particularly one with a high degree of compliance along the siderails, take extra precautions to help prevent entrapment."

Dacă am înţeles bine, este vorba despre saltelele ale căror margini sunt flexibile şi iau forma marginii cadrului şi a lateralelor (siderails) patului.
