Eu nu aş traduce sintagma, ci aş adăuga în paranteză, semnificaţia sa în română: proces de fabricare cu randament crescut/ridicat
Nu văd legătura cu afinitatea, din context....mie una mi se pare că este vorba despre procesul de fabricare cu randament crescut.
Oricum, în română referinţe nu există, iar în italiană văd că îl lasă întotdeauna în original, în toate studiile clinice pe care le-am găsit până acum...

In the manufacturing industry, many processes are producing very low levels
of nonconforming items due to the advent of technological advancement and manufacturing
automation. The fraction p of nonconforming items for such processes
is usually on the order of parts-per-million (ppm) and one speaks of high yield
processes. A high yield process is defined here as a process with an in-control p0
of at most 0.001, or 1000 ppm. The Shewhart np or p chart, commonly used for
monitoring the fraction of nonconforming items, is not suitable for monitoring
high yield processes.
