Penalty marks / points are normally not applied against the drivers in the responding countries.
Restraint of the driver as a sanction is however practiced in most of the countries in order to fulfil rest time requirements in case of infringement against driving time rules and/or to pay the penalty applied.

Eu interpretez „/” ca o varianta alternativă (sinonim) la „mark”. În orice caz, în legislația rutieră din România structura consacrată este ”punct de penalizare”. Așa am învățat eu :D. Poate între timp lucrurile s-au mai schimbat :)
