|English term or phrase: horse of a different color|
|If you were asked to translate the expression|
*horse of a different color* within, say, a newspaper article in an American newspaper, how would you go about it? First, let me cite
(by the way, this site is a rich and often quite amusing source of English idioms!)
a horse of a different color: a different matter, a separate issue as in "If he wants to buy the land, that's a horse of a different color."
How would you translate this idiom into Russian? What I mean to ask is: is there a *comparable* idiom, a similarly *colorful* expression in Russian, NOT just a literal translation of the English idea? I would hope that there would be something better than simply oтдельная проблема, pазличный вопрос, or pазличное дело
to convey the flavor or tone of the original English expression.
