Вариантов множество. Они точно только покрытиями занимаются? Это может быть и Instrument Test - приборные испытания, и Integrated Trials - комплексные испытания, и Ignition Transformer - трансформатор зажигания, и много чего другого.

Тогда наверное прав Александр Коносов. Это скорее всего какая-то линейка покрытий, в названии которых присутствует -IT. Например (то, что касается непосредственно авто) у 3М есть такие - \"FITNESSE-IT\", \"PERFECT-IT\" (http://www3.3m.com/search/uk/en002/msdssearch.do?msdsSearchT...)
