And that’s held together by the stitching that you can see here. Now, by layering this up in different ways, by using the triax material and the biax material, we can orientate the strength in the direction that we want it, without adding additional weight.

Explanation:
Англоязычная классификация композитных материалов по направлению волокон включает в себя uni-directional, biaxial
(biax), tri-axial (triax) и quadraxial материалы. По-русски они называются
одно-, двух-, трех- и четырехнаправленные (композитные) материалы.
Используется и вариант перевода, содержащий слово "аксиальный", но заметно реже (и обычно в переводах с английского).
