я работаю в области юридического перевода и НЕ перевожу эту аббревиатуру из тех же соображений.

сказал в своем "единственном" :-) посте в обсуждении (плюс см. ссылку, вывешенную коллегой interprivate).

"Вариант перевода" из Мультитрана пополнит, надеюсь, глоссарий, над составлением которого мы все здесь усердно трудимся.

P.S. Владимир, дело в том, что scilicet относится как к country, так и к city/state, поэтому говорить "страна, а именно: город" неверно. Как я уже писал, scilicet - это указание на территориальную принадлежность (подсудность). Многие коллеги, работающие в области юридического перевода, сию аббревиатуру, встречающуюся в основном на странице с удостоверительной надписью нотариуса, не переводят, исключая ее из русскоязычного текста. Уж поверьте. Спасибо.

P.S. Юридический термин, указывающий на территориальную принадлежность (от латинского scilicet). Имхо, при переводе можно опустить.

-> да пусть смотрятся и что тут такого? мультитран и для того чтобы там слова искали. И спрашивающие и отвечающие могут пользоваться мультитраном, только вот подобрать нужное слово не всем удаётся. Или здесь есть бан на мультитран о котором я не знаю?

Occasionally, I see the letters "S.S." on a notarial certificate, usually near the venue. What do these letters mean?

Some notaries mistakenly believe that they are to fill in the signer's social security number after the letters "SS" Actually, the letters are the abbreviation of the Latin word scilicet, meaning "in particular" or "namely." They appear in the venue, so that the location of the notarization literally reads, "In the State of Florida, in particular the County of ____." YOU MAY SIMPLY IGNORE THESE LETTERS AND COMPLETE THE VENUE AS USUAL (выделено мною).
