Жених/невеста? Но ведь запись о заключении акта уже есть, значит они уже не жених и невеста, а муж и жена? Подскажите, пожалуйста. Спасибо. |

This is because the top part of the certificate, where the names, etc. are, is a copy of the marriage license, which is filed for some time before the wedding. I imagine there's a similar system in other states, and possibly in other countries. I would say "betrothed" here is pretty much analogous with "groom/bride," and thus could be translated as Жених/невеста. BTW, I'm curious to know where this license is from; where do they still use an old-fashioned word like "betrothed"? |
