Сначала я подумала, что celebration подразумевает церемонию бракосочетания, но меня смутило то, что запись акта о заключении брака датирована другим числом, не тем, что marriage celebration. Разве может дата записи акта отделом ЗАГС отличаться от даты церемонии бракосочетания?
Если это не церемония, то что? (неужели празднование?) Не понимаю.

We got married at the registrar's office, so it's not a difference between a religious and a civil ceremony. The way I understand it, the "celebration" of our marriage (although it's not called that on our certificate) was on one date, when the ceremony was performed and we and our witnesses signed the paperwork, and the "date accepted for registration" was when the registrar's office employees entered it into the official county records. There may be an analogous situation here.
Спасибо, значит это все-таки церемония бракосочетания (т.е. формальные действа в ЗАГСе). Не хватило знания реалий. Сбило с толку то, что запись акта и церемония приходятся на разные даты.
that's how it was for me but then why would the marriage celebration date and "запись акта о заключении брака' be different? ведь это не тоже самое что получение лицензии.

do you party at the Civil Registry Office? seems strange to me.
besides since when do marriage certificates include information about where and when you hold a celebration dinner/party...
now, if the intention is to differentiate between signing the paperwork and doing the actual ceremony... then i could understand. if you have a religious ceremony, for example, you are not going to sign your paperwork at the church.
эти два события имеют друг другу? Чисто формально? Вы идете в загс, а потом можете отправляться куда угодно - хоть в ресторан, хоть на Северный полюс. Где вы будете отмечать свадьбу, касается только вас.

Explanation: Свадьба, проще говоря, т.е. само празднование за накрытыми столами. Дата официальной регистрации - это одно, а праздник - другое. В принципе праздник можно устраивать когда хочется, хоть за месяц до регистрации, хоть через месяц после нее.
