The catalyst was ground, pressed and sieved to 20 - 40 mesh size (420 - 841 um) and 0.577 g of catalyst was loaded into a quartz reactor using **quartz wool plugs** and quartz chips to hold the catalyst bed in place. For catalyst pretreatment, the reactor was heated to 850°C under 100 ml/min of air and held for 2 hours.
