The annual emisson E is derived from an activity rate A and a factor, which determines their linear relation (see Equation (1):

Ei = EFi x A

Ei - annual emission of pollutant i
EFi - emission factor of pollutant i
A -activity rate

For the activity rate A the energy input in [GJ] should be used but in principle other relations are also applicable.

Прошу прощения, но ответ совсем не подходит. Под 'activity' подразумевается работа установок, в вопросе я дала пояснение как измеряется "activity rate". 'rate' и 'ratio' aбсолютно разные понятия. Прошу меня извинить.
