Замечание типа "дюймы действительно бывают разные" хотя и верное, но в данном случае совершенно неуместно и вводит в заблуждение. С 1958 г. американский дюйм официально приравнен английскому, а никакие другие дюймы не используются.

-> Возможно, автор текста об этом не знает или решил перестраховаться или сталкивался с другими дюймами.... или... бог его знает... в технических текстах и не такое встречается

имхо, тут standard относится не к дюймам, а к размерам - типа бывают ключи 3/4 и 3/8 дюйм, но не бывает 3/7 дюйм. а вот америкен все равно непонятен

-> Спасибо. Да, фраза в целом мутная. Полагаю, что речь идет о стандартных инструментах, размеры которых указываются в дюймах (американских). Другог смысла как-то не видно... или же имеются в ивду просто инструменты американского производства...

Why did the menu change?
The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to.
The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability.
