Explanation:
По-моему, officer это и руководитель, и должностное лицо в некой компании, а official это чиновник, т.е. тоже и то, и другое, но на гос. службе обязательно. Например, officials часто говорят, чтобы сказать "власти" или "администрация". А officer в контексте гос. службы означает "служащий". Я так поняла.

У вас во фразе official, похоже, "ответственное лицо", а officer - "должностное лицо".

Vladimir Dubisskiy: так ведь тут вроде все в рамках компании - "чиновников" в компании нет. И "в контексте" корпорации (финансовой) officer означает "работник" (или тот же "служащий").

-> я этот ответ дала до того как Елена добавила комментарий, а "ответственное лицо добавила сразу после этого, когда вашего ответа еще не было. Оффисер начинается с определенного грейда, поэтому не все работники оффисеры. Я в такой компании пока еще работаю.
