без контекста, как всегда судить трудно, но я поняла, что это деревья, которые сначала повалило ветром, потом у них обрубили сучья, а потом отправят на дальнейшую пере- (об)работку. В интернете есть ссылки на такой именно процесс

Asker: На самом деле - это два разных вида деревьев. windthrown OR limbed trees вы перевели бы так же? Есть ли "limbed" одним словом?
