Речь о том-же политике и его фракции внутри партии. (У нас тут выборы на носу, так-что тема животрепещущая).

Я естесственно понимаю что что это значит. Вопрос в хорошем переводе принятом в Российской политической лексике. Он конечно не собирается буквально свести счеты с жизнью, речь о его политической карьере.

Вторую фразу оттуда я сейчас в отдельный вопрос вынесу, но она о том-же.
