of the device is currently not possible.
Не совсем понимаю, к чему относится connected/unconnected и как это перевести в контексте.

Explanation:
Я не пойму толком, о чем говорится в Вашем тексте, но из того, что Вы привели, получается, что в одном случае устройство содержащее hard certificate, подсоединено (connected) к компьютеру через USB порт, а в другом - не подсоединено (not connected).
