The previous 3 answers were all right, I am writing this just to add some more info. Please note: not only in Russia months are not written with the first capital letter, (unless a sentence starts with it), but also if abbreviated to figures, months are placed after the figures of dates as opposed to the American sequence month/date/year. mesjacy Explanation: The problem is when you write, i.e., "19th July": in Russian they want to be declined at genitive. Then: 1 - январь (janvar'), января (janvarja); 2 - февраль (fevral'), февраля (fevralja); 3 - март (mart), марта (marta); 4 - апрель (aprel'), апреля (aprelja); 5 - май (maj), мая (maja); 6 - июнь (ijun'), июня (ijunja); 7 - июль (ijul'), июля (ijulja); 8 - август (avgust), августа (avgusta); 9 - сентябрь (sentjabr'), сентября (sentjabrja); 10 - октябрь (oktjabr'), октября (oktjabrja); 11 - ноябрь (nojabr'), ноября (nojabrja); 12 - декабрь (dekabr'), декабря (dekabrja). |
