Я слышала это выражение довольно часто - но, как мне кажется, оно относится именно к \"повеселиться\", \"побеситься\", \"хорошо провести время\" - то, что раньше называли \"покайфовать\".

В моложежной среде очень распространенное выражение, однако, если Вам нужно нечто относящееся ТОЛЬКО к танцам - у \"оторваться\" смысл будет более обширный.

Попробуйте предложить что-то молодежно-сленговое, не грубое, но приемлемое + с Вашей точки зрения not low.

В этом и проявляется разница между \"отцами\" и \"детьми\" - то есть разница между поколениями.

Тоже может быть.
Хотя "выступить" - довольно многозначно.
"Атасно" (от "атас")ещё слышал (тоже в среде студентов,хоть и феней "несёт") - а что же делать, - говорят-с.

О-о! "Улётно" - вот как ещё можно "выступить". И "Улёт" (типа: Дискотека - улёт! Вечер - улёт!)
