еще по-русски так ведь и говорят "вошел в возраст", имея в виду наступление возраста, достаточного/подходящего для нового поста или статуса
Но в данном случае - о техническом протоколе - так сказать было бы неуместно.

Мое мнение: теперь в данном устройстве есть такая функция (раньше не было, а теперь есть). Т.е. как ntercom over IP (IOIP) "созрел", стал более совершенным, "стал солидным устройством со многими функциями".
