"Dissemination databases" как "базы данных для свободного распространения"

Как я это понимаю речь идет о хранилищах данных, базах данных как средстве распространения данных/информации. Вообще распространения, а не "свободного".

DISSEMINATION DATABASES = Distributed Databases = распределенные базы данных


Explanation:
Merriam Webster (www.m-w.com) дает второе значение слова dissemination, вернее disseminate

2 : to disperse throughout

что наводит меня на мысль, что dissemination databases это аналог распределенных баз данных. Также такой перевод очень хорошо вписывается по смыслу в оба приведенных мною выше контекста.

Насчет "свободного распространения" я по-прежнему не согласна. Какой-то странный термин, ухо режет. А что тогда подразумевается под альтернативой этому "свободному" - платное, засекреченое паролем,... Kакие ограничения?
