рыночный городок (etc.) Explanation: Indeed, serious dictionaries give us город, в котором происходят базары By its sense, you can mean also some villages where the market sales take place: (Nekrasov): "... В торговом селе Чистополье..." In Russia the most known town market was Нижегородская ярмарка, which literally means Nizhnii Novgorod Trade Fair.
