Полагаю, что seed здесь имеет смысл затравочный (кристалл), т.е. это вал мешалки для испарителя или кристаллизатора с затравкой. Смущает mixed, но по смыслу это всё равно перемешивание.
Ещё есть вариант опечатки в оригинале - Feed, а не seed. Тогда зависит от общего контекста - м.б. вал подачи/перемешивания для испарителя, а может быть и комбикорм)))
