По-моему, из контекста ясно, что героиня наконец-то имела возможость жить одной - иметь отдельную комнату и, скорее всего, ванную комнату тоже - и именно это её радовало больше всего и давало ей ощущение достатка и благополучия. Либо там, где она она жила раньше, ванны не было вообще, что исключало возможность принятия ванны как таковой; либо она (ванна) была в общем пользовании, что не позволяло принимать долгие ванны.
Вряд ли речь идёт именно о счетах за воду, потому что "обеспеченность" героини (по контексту) - следующая ступенька после общежития, то есть обеспеченностью в прямом смысле этого слова считаться не может; скорее, речь идёт о возможности жить одной, о роскоши приватности. Героиня, скорее всего, начала зарабатывать ровно настолько больше, чем раньше, чтобы наконец иметь возможность снимать отдельную комнату с отдельной ванной - и это для неё было роскошью и удовольствие само по себе.
