Дэва (пали, санскр. देव, «сияющий») в буддизме — название для множества разнотипных существ, более сильных, долгоживущих, и более удовлетворённых жизнью, чем люди. Термин дэва принято переводить как бог или божество, хотя дэвы значительно отличаются от божеств других религий.
В индийской космогонии приводятся десятки, если не сотни видов различных существ божественного, демонического и смешанного свойства, в зависимости от того, из какой (или каих) Гун они были "изготовлены" Брамой. Согласно Шивапуране (недавно читал в англ. переводе) Дэвы - это полубожественные существа, сотворенные четырехликим Брамой частично из Саттвическаого, а частично из Раджасическго Элемента. Если верить этому тексту, то - они скорее "светлые духи", но не Боги. Подозреваю, что славянское "див" и лат. "deus" от того же корня.
С другой стороны, в этимологии имен индуистских Божеств, Дэва встречается как часть Имени, напр. Махадэва. Я бы советовал, чтобы не запутаться, либо связаться с санскритологом, либо не париться и писать "Дэвы", тем более что у современных "спиритуальных авторов", когда они пользуются санскритскими терминами, такая каша-малаша выходит, что без бутылки никак не разобраться... Судя по контексту, автор вряд ли имеет в виду классических санскритских Дэвов - тут и ангелы, и русалки и пр. пр.: Spiritual Masala, served hot!

Explanation: As far as I understand, in this context devas are the spirits that are directly related to nature, the ones that help plants grow, not Buddhist deities or evil spirits.

In creating plants, fairies work with smaller plants. Devas are more advanced in evolution than fairies and work with trees and shrubs. Elementals are tiny fairies with a group mind and may work with blossoms.
