Тип корпуса Explanation: It may be connected with covers, though without a wider context it's just making guesses. English-Russian Scientific and Engineering Dictionary; Y. Bourman, G. Bobkovsky. - Moscow, 1995 |

тип кожуха/корпуса/оболочки Explanation: It is reasonable to submit the context. My dictionary has 9 technical meanings of the term 'housing'. I have cited only a single one, which seems to be related to covers. The Comprehensive English-Russian Scientific and Technical Dictionary, Moscow 1991 |

тип корпуса -- tip korpusa, тип жилья -- tip zhiliya Explanation: Stolyarov Scientific and Technical Dictionary gives this translation, also see the web site related to mobile phones housing types. However, if you are talking about insurance cover (????) - it would definitely mean -- тип жилья. Even in technical sense a wider context is absolutely essential, as it may also mean e.g. тип чехла или футляра (see above dictionary) Reference: http://www.mobile-phones-uk.co.uk/fone_acc/Ericsson_628_inde... |

Тип/вид корпуса/кожужа/оболочки/чехла/футляра Explanation: Agree with the previous answerers, a broader context would be really helpful. Anyway, all the above variants fall withing one meaning, i.e. something an object is placed into. Examples: stream-lined housing обтекаемый кожух protective housing защитный кожух оболочка троса (управления) casting housing литой корпус (трансмиссии) container housing защитный корпус foldable housing складной корпус hermetic housing герметизированный корпус, and so on, so forth ABBYY Lingvo 6.0 |
