Na filmu i u pozorištu to je poznati pojam, pa se često ostavlja i nepreveden.
Primer: "Tokom čitavog filma, kroz cross-cutting prikazuju se nadahnuta teorijska izlaganja..."

Što se forme filma tiče, radi se o klasičnom dokumentarnom pristupu sa intervjuima i arhivskim materijalom, pri čemu se koristi paralelna montaža.

Takođe, parovi izvođača često paralelno nastupaju na sceni, čime se ova forma približava filmsko-televizijskom načinu izražavanja (paralelna montaža).
