NPRS (numerical pain rating scale) and self-report health outcome measures. The subjects used the NPRS to rate their pain during examination tests and functional activities. The NPRS is an 11-point scale, with 0 representing no pain and 10 representing excruciating pain. This scale has been shown to have acceptable measurement properties (reliable, generalizable, and internally consistent) for the measurement of pain intensity in both clinical and experimental settings as well as in patients with both extremity and spinal disorders.
