Ground fault detection (GD) unit
The GD unit is used to detect the ground fault detection of secondary circuit. This unit consists of ground current sensor (GCT), ground resistors (GR), and surge absorption capacitor (GC). When the ground fault occurs in the secondary circuit, the ground fault current runs through the neutral point of DC link. Thus, the GCU detects the ground fault by detecting ground current runs through the neutral point. The ground resistors are used to restrain the ground fault current. The surge absorbing capacitor is used to absorb the surge current when the VCB is closed.
