Šasija automobila se sastoji od sledećih osnosvnih komponenti:
1. motor (engine)
2. noseći ram (frame); ram nosi motor, točkove i karoseriju
3. pogonski sklop (power train), u pogonski sklop spadaju kvačilo, menjač, kardanska osovina i diferencijal
