Is there any standard for translation of abbreviations for legal institutions and documents in EU? Reviewing translated legislation results sometimes yes and sometimes no. Does any body have a clear idea about it?

I believe that there are standard translations for these terms that should always be used in EU documents. Maybe the translators who use a different term just do not bother to check if a standard translation exists.
