What I mean is precisely that it has that double meaning, one of them conveying, as you imply, just "something new", while the second carries also that 'word' idea.

Milton Printemps I understand that "lo último en" means "the latest in" or the "ultimate in"; however, "buzzword" is a compound word that includes the terms "buzz" and "word". In that context, the first means something that is being extensively murmurredl and the second, obviously means "word" or "term". Consequently, "lo último en" does not include one of the basic/inherent meanings of "buzzword", which is "palabra, vocablo, or término".

No existe una traducción exacta. Hay una connotación ligeramente negativa que la versión española no transmite. Por lo que yo he visto este es un problema común (la falta de traducción directa) entre todas las preguntas para los glosarios. Esta es precisamente la razón por la cual casi siempre se utiliza el Inglés.

En dos de los ejemplos dados habría que usar "término" o algo así y no palabra ya que que hablan de más de una palabra
