agree  Charles Davis: Yes, or perhaps "no haber podido atender su llamada": sounds like the sort of thing they'd say. But of course "llamadas perdidas" is common lingo with mobiles.

  -> Yes, I can see the drawback - but specifically I didn't use "no haber podido atender" in order not to show that the speaker simply wasn't by the phone as opposed to refusing to answer it! If you see what I mean....
