OR Tambo International Airport is regarded as a "hot and high" airport. Situated almost 1700 metres (5,500 feet) above mean sea level,[13] the air is thin. This has implications for the performance of aircraft at altitude. For example, flights from Johannesburg to Washington, D.C., currently operated with an Airbus A340-600, once had to stop in Dakar International Airport in Senegal for refuelling, since the aircraft was not able to make the run on one fuel fill. This is because of decreased performance on take-off from the airport, where an aircraft cannot take off fully laden with fuel, cargo, and passengers, and must use a longer stretch of runway to reach take-off velocity.

Hola Daltry:

Hot destinations: son los destinos del momento, los lugares que se ponen de moda y a los que todo el mundo de repente va.
High destinations se refiere más bien a los destinos turísticos desde hace mucho tiempo.

Mi propuesta es que puedes ponerlo todo como destinos muy turísticos y si quieres especificar, puedes añadir del momento y de siempre, para luego continuar con "como los vuelos transcontinentales más largos".

La idea es transmitir que se trata de un aeronave a la que se pueden dar varios usos.

"prestar servicio" es la expresión acuñada en muchas compañías aeronáuticas españolas.

Daltry, la verdad es que he revisado mi respuesta, y te la he dado en un sentido "turístico", pero me había olvidado de "payload", en este caso posiblemente se refiera a destinos que se encuentren a alta altitud (Como la Paz) o tenga altas temperaturas.

Mi opción en este caso sería: son aviones que operan tanto para destinos expuestos a la altitud y el calor (o las altas temperaturas) como para los vuelos transcontinentales más largos.

La carga que admite un avión varía con las condiciones ambientales de temperatura y altitud.
