English to Spanish translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Agriculture / composting
English term or phrase:dairy manure
"Although Co-Composter was initially developed to describe co-composting of dairy manure with other solid wastes, it may also be used to model municipal solid waste and yard waste systems which do not include dairy manure."
Explanation: We are talking solid waste here from the context.

Dairy = vacas y solo vacas. No pigs, no horses. A dairy is where milk is produced.
solids and liquid, I don't think it is necessary in this context which is why I put it in brackets but the fact is that it goes on to talk of 'other' solid wastes. It just might be that the need was not felt to distinguish 'slurry' from 'solid' since the stuff is not liquid in any event. And it is quite common to let slurry dry to form a solid which is probably what happens here. It really is not that relevant. I would leave it out personally.
A point to note is that dairy waste isn't solid. Dung is washed out of the sheds using a lot of water and it's not economically viable to separate out much (e.g. by centrifuging). So we're dealing with a slurry!

estiércol líquido
Explanation: This is the usual translation for "slurry" which is the more usual term for dairy manure. boñiga is what it would be if it were dry.
