Explanation:
Dudo que se refiera literalmente a algún tipo de rastrillo.
Efectivamente, "rake in the money", o simplemente "rake it in", quiere decir "ganar mucho dinero"; pero sólo como verbo. Jamás lo he visto como sustantivo ("make a rake" por "make a fortune/lot of money") y no encuentro esta variante en ningún sitio. No creo que sea éste el sentido.
Como sustantivo, el sentido de "rake" que mejor encaja en este contexto, en mi opinión, es el de una comisión, arancel o porcentaje que alguien cobra sobre algún tipo de transacción. En el póquer, y otros juegos como el backgammon, por ejemplo, el "rake" es una parte del bote que cobra la casa:
"Rake n. Also the drop. A percentage taken out of the pot by the house."

No quiero decir que se trate literalmente del póquer en este caso, pero me parece que "rake" se emplea probablemente con este sentido. En muchos contextos, se emplea "rake-off" para un porcentaje que alquien cobra:
"a rake-off (informal)
a share of the profits of something, often taken in a way that is not honest
Corrupt customs officers were taking a rake-off from import taxes."
