The landscapes within which the fossil localities are found are varied.
In Asturias the localities are situated on the seashore, generally on the cliffs or associated to the layer of loose rock debris at their feet.
Some localities are protected from heavy visitation by barriers; and from rain and temperature change by shelters or stone walls to divert rainwater.

No he podido encontrar un equivalente exacto, lo siento, así que de momento te progongo esta alternativa.
Alternativamente, tal vez se pudiera decir "concentraciones"
