Explanation:
'Circumference' significa 'circunferencia' y se refiere al perímetro, sí, de un círculo.
No veo ninguna razón para no traducirlo como 'circunferencia' que es un término más específico. No olvidemos que se habla de los colmillos del elefante.
Por otra parte, con el término 'perímetro' podríamos estar hablando de su perímetro longitudinal, que no es el caso.
