English to Spanish translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Archaeology / Glossary of archeological terms | | English term or phrase: can point out relationships to disparate places | I've got to finish this translation soon, and no matter how many times I read this sentence, I'm not completely sure what it means. Thanks to all!
Curation – the longest stage of archaeology where only a small portion is done at the site. Initial cataloging is done as the object is removed from the ground so it can be identified and studied in context later. Following this the object must be conserved including extensive chemical stabilization to prevent its decay over time. Then the object is studied which may include sorting tens of thousands of fragments to identify components of a single vessel which is then reassembled like a jigsaw puzzle. ***The relationships of the various pieces to one vessel can point out relationships to disparate places in the ground.*** Objects are identified, dated, and otherwise analyzed. Then the objects must be cataloged and stored so they can be studied in the future or displayed. |

Asker: The text refers to vessels, different types of pottery like bowls, jars, vases, pots, etc. Thanks for helping. I still don't get what they are saying in this sentence, though.
