Por lo menos en el contexto artístico.

Te lo digo por experiencia: me matriculé en un curso de verano de canto barroco y hablando con nativos ingleses se referían a él como "workshop". Por consiguiente supongo que "workshop" es también curso o cursillo de índole artística.
