Novillero o Campanero Explanation: To play truant es, en español clásico, hacer novillos. Después tienes diferentes acepciones dependiendo de a quién o a que parte del mundo vaya dirigido el texto. Algunas que se me ocurren son: - Hacer novillos: novillero (aclarando que no es un torero) - Hacer campana: campanero - Hacer pellas: pellero (?) - Hacer piparra: piparrero - Hacer borota: borotero Espero que alguna te sirva :-) |

If your target audience is in the USA, you'll need to make it descriptive, rather than try to translate it to a specific word, as you will have a mixture of regional backgrounds. :-) |

Ausente injustificado Explanation: Este es un término que causó polémica en el distrito escolar adonde trabajo. Anteriormente traducían "truant" como haragán y truancy como haraganería. Debido a que muchas personas se sintieron ofendidas y como se deseaba usar un término un tanto formal, pero al mismo tiempo comprensible, se llegó a la conclusión de usar: Ausente injustificado y ausencia injustificada.
