Necesito traducir estos dos términos de forma diferente porque aparecen en un dibujo de una rueda. Según mis diccionarios, los dos términos se traducirían por "guardabarros". ¿Normalmente son exactamente lo mismo aunque en este caso los estén utilizando como si fueran distintos? ¿Cómo podría distinguirlos?

guardachoques vs. guardabarros


Explanation:
This is how they are distinguished in Spain. fenders = guardachoques; splashguard = guardabarros. I also see that this terminology is used in other Spanish-speaking countries such as in this ad for a KIA Sorento in Ecuador

However, I agree with Henry that the translation you choose may depend on the target country, since in Spain, for example, the "salpicadero" of a car is its dashboard.
